Vale – Professor Richard Baron

It is with great sadness that we’ve learned of Professor Rich Baron’s recent sudden passing. Rich was our invited international guest speaker at this year’s ARGANZ conference in Sydney (2017).

He was one of the world’s greatest radiology educators and an inspiring mentor to many of us who knew him. He was also a skilled administrator, having been Chairman of the Department of Radiology at The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, and later at The University of Chicago.

We’re pleased we all had a chance to welcome him to Australia and to introduce him to our ARGANZ community in February.
His passion for teaching, his generosity of spirit and his love of company touched us all that weekend.

He will be greatly missed.
