Congratulations to Dr Ayesha Arora for being selected as the successful fellow for the inaugural ESGAR-ARGANZ fellowship exchange.
Designed for radiologists within 5 years of practice following obtaining their FRANZCR Fellowship, this new collaborative exchange between ARGANZ and ESGAR is created to enhance international professional development and foster global collaboration in abdominal radiology. It involves a 3 month observership opportunity at a renowned institution in Europe, with a young ESGAR member also coming to Australia / New Zealand for 3 months.
Dr Arora has chosen to do her fellowship at the University College London, and we can’t wait to hear about her fellowship on her return.

Congratulations to Dr Minh-Son To for winning the 2025 Mendelson Research Prize for his presentation on External validation of a deep learning model for automated lesion detection and bony metastasis classification on PSMA PET-CT in prostate cancer.
This research prize was created in 2015 to promote and foster research interest in abdominal radiology. In 2017 , the prize was named after the founding Chairman of ARGANZ, Professor Richard Mendelson, Royal Perth Hospital, WA. Professor Mendelson was the driving force behind the creation of ARGANZ and we all owe him a huge debt of gratitude for promoting Abdominal imaging in Australia and New Zealand. ARGANZ is pleased to announce that oral presentations accepted as candidates for the Mendelson Research Prize (MRP) at the ARGANZ annual meeting have now been approved by RANZCR to meet the Clinical Radiology Research Project Oral Presentation requirements. For transitioning trainees, the MRP remains an approved avenue for meeting Project 2 oral presentation requirements.
The Mendelson Research Prize winner wins a trip to attend the European Society of Gastrointestinal and Abdominal Radiology (ESGAR) Annual Meeting in Europe including flights, accommodation and registration.
