The 2017 ARGANZ meeting was conducted in Sydney on 10-12 February at the Hyatt Regency.

The highlight of the meeting were the series of lectures from one of the world’s greatest radiology educators In Professor Richard Baron from the University of Chicago. Professor Baron’s infectious enthusiasm was evident to all and his lectures were inspirational. We thank him for his time and support for our meeting. We were honoured to have him visit Australia and speak at ARGANZ.

For the first time this year, ARGANZ conducted a 1 day workshop with topics including Rectum, Prostate, Liver and Pancreas. The workshop was limited to 60 people, with 2 people sharing a workstation. All agreed this was a fantastic innovation for the meeting.

Other meeting highlights included the Registrar Research Competition where a fully paid trip to ESGAR 2017 or 2018 was on offer as first prize and the School of ARGANZ-an interactive teaching/tutorial session conducted by current senior Abdominal Imaging examiners.
