AGW 2026 will feature several major highlights, including:

Friday 28 August – Pre-events now available at significantly reduced rates for GESA members:

  • Research Workshop, ‘Frontiers in Gastroenterology Research: From Bench to Bedside’
  • Postgraduate Course, A comprehensive Postgraduate Course in its fourth year supporting both trainees and established clinicians

The GESA Postgraduate Course returns to Perth in 2026 for the final year of its established four‑year educational cycle, offering an intensive, practice‑focused update for Advanced Trainees, Fellows, Junior Gastroenterology Consultants, or more experienced Consultants seeking a refresher on the fundamentals of clinical practice in Gastroenterology & Hepatology.

This full‑day program will bring together leading Australian and International invited experts to deliver a structured curriculum spanning key domains of luminal gastroenterology, hepatology, pancreatobiliary disease, and functional and nutritional disorders. The course will emphasise practical decision‑making, guideline‑aligned management, and real‑world clinical challenges. In addition, experts will share their 5 top ‘trips and traps’ for each of the topics covered.

Designed to complement FRACP training requirements and provide a clinically focused approach for more senior gastroenterologists, the 2026 course will consolidate the knowledge built across the previous three years of the cycle, making it particularly valuable for advanced trainees nearing completion of training, as well as consultants seeking a focused update.  All sessions will be recorded to develop a comprehensive resource available through the GESA website and will be available to registrants after the course.
