ARGANZ 2020 CANCELLED
It is with regret that the ARGANZ executive has decided to cancel the 2020 ARGANZ meeting due to occur from the 27-29 March 2020 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, Brisbane, Australia.
Following the outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19), travel restrictions are in place in a number of countries, and by employers both in Australia and New Zealand, affecting ARGANZ delegates and speakers. We have been advised today that both of our International Speakers, Prof Valerie Vilgrain and Prof Giuseppe Brancatelli are also now under travel restrictions and are unable to attend.
While our original plan was to continue with the meeting, given all of the above and uncertainty in relation to leave for our delegates, the ARGANZ Executive feel this is the right decision to make now. We are all disappointed not to be able to attend what was due to be an outstanding meeting, with record registrations. We are currently assessing future workshop and meeting options and will inform you once we have more information. We sincerely hope that you understand that this decision is being made in the interest of everyone involved.
Delegate registrations will now be processed as cancelled and refunded less a fee to cover costs already incurred as per our cancellation policy. If you have booked accommodation at the conference hotels via the Meeting Managers during your registration, your accommodation will be cancelled by the Meeting Manager. If you do NOT wish your accommodation to be cancelled please contact us IMMEDIATELY as cancellations need to happen within 24 hours to minimise any cancellation fees. Please note that accommodation cancellation fees may apply and are charged by the individual conference hotels, and not by the ARGANZ Meeting organisers. Individual communications confirming cancellation will follow over the next 24 hours.
We wish to acknowledge the time and effort our presenters will have put into their planned presentations and thank them for this. Also to all the delegates who have supported ARGANZ, we greatly appreciate your patience and understanding and look forward to seeing you at future events.
