SUMMARY:AANZHPBA ASM\, 23rd - 24th July 2026\, Brisbane Australia
DESCRIPTION:23rd – 24th July 2026 in Brisbane. https://aanzhpba-isfgs.com/ \nWe warmly invite clinicians to an exciting cross-disciplinary scientific meeting. The Australian and Aotearoa New Zealand Hepatopancreaticobiliary Association (AANZHPBA) has partnered with the International Society of Fluorescence-Guided Surgery (ISFGS\, Asia–Pacific Chapter) for a dynamic two-day program. \nDay 1 is HPB-focused\, while Day 2 features a multidisciplinary agenda with a plenary session in the morning and specialty-specific breakout sessions in the afternoon covering colorectal\, gynaecology\, thoracic\, upper GI\, and more. Learn from international and local experts through interactive workshops. Abstract submissions are welcome across all specialties. \nThe 2026 meeting also marks the 20th anniversary of the AANZHPBA. Founded in 2005 with seed funding from the 2000 IHPBA Brisbane Congress\, our early meetings—many held at Coolum—were foundational for Australasian HPB surgeons\, fostering mentorship\, collegiality\, and lifelong friendships. Many early fellows are now leaders in the specialty. \nThis year\, we will showcase our history while exploring the contemporary role of fluorescence technology in surgery. In HPB surgery\, fluorescence supports liver function assessment\, tumour and biliary localisation\, and navigation of complex anatomy\, enhancing both open and minimally invasive approaches. Its applications extend across multiple surgical disciplines. \nThe fellows’ weekend will follow the main meeting\, offering an extended program of learning\, mentorship\, and networking specifically for AANZHPBA fellows. \nWith a stellar faculty of international and local experts\, this meeting is a unique opportunity to expand your knowledge\, collaborate across specialties\, and stay at the forefront of surgical innovation. \nJoin us in July to celebrate our 20th anniversary and help shape the future of the AANZHPBA. \nWarm regards\nProfessor Jonathan Koea & A/Prof Nicholas O’Rourke\nEvent Convenors
